That was after Kelly Bryant started the first four games of the season as the team’s No. 1.After breaking the news to Bryant on Monday, Swinney gave the former starter the day off after what Swinney called an “emotional” discussion. According to a new report, Bryant also missed practice on Tuesday sparking rumors. Will Bryant transfer? That’s the question being asked in the wake of the NCAA’s new redshirt rule that allows players to preserve their redshirt status if they play in four or fewer games.Bryant has played in four game this season, thus making him eligible to retain the redshirt. Dabo was asked about the possibility of a transfer. According to the State, Swinney gave the following comments when asked about Bryant:“Certainly if he walked in here today and said, ‘Hey, coach, I don’t want to play the rest of the year unless you’ve got to have me,’ well ‘Ok, if that’s what you want to do, I’m all for it.’ I love Kelly,” Swinney said. “I would be disappointed in that because we need him. But I wouldn’t judge him for that.”Bryant has the option to retain his redshirt and transfer if he so chooses. His absence from a second-straight practice raises questions and we’ll have to wait for more answers.Stay tuned.[The State]last_img
