Categories: Letters to the Editor, Opinion Friends will work to get out the “yes” vote on Dec. 5. We believe this vote can preserve 37 natural acres as a central park. We believe it will be an easily accessible park for all the residents of southern Saratoga County. We envision a walkable place to connect the Shen campus, the YMCA, the library and Collins Park for the health and enjoyment of everyone visiting the area.We wish to balance growing commercialization in this area with the beauty of nature. We hope for a forest park to serve as a living laboratory for our students in the Shen district. We would like to leave a priceless, living piece of nature for future generation to enjoy. We urge all district residents to come out on Dec. 5 to Gowana Middle School and “vote yes” for this referendum.Susan BurtonRexfordThe writer is vice president of the Friends of Clifton Park Open Space.More from The Daily Gazette:EDITORIAL: Urgent: Today is the last day to complete the censusEDITORIAL: Find a way to get family members into nursing homesEDITORIAL: Beware of voter intimidationEDITORIAL: Thruway tax unfair to working motoristsPolice: Schenectady woman tried to take car in Clifton Park hours after arrest, release in prior the… Friends of Clifton Park Open Space is pleased to see the Shenendehowa school board and the town of Clifton Park officially reach an agreement on both the sale of the approximately 37 acres and a memorandum of understanding regarding the use and maintenance of the property. We applaud this demonstration of cooperation between the school board and the town, not only on the transfer of the property, but also on their continuing efforts to foster that relationship for the good of both parties.
